Description: Committee is composed of a member from each state affiliate with voting privileges and a member from each aspiring affiliate actively engaged in working on the affiliate process; to meet monthly. Staff support will keep minutes, help schedule meetings, etc. as directed by Executive Board of WDAA.

Mission: to facilitate effective two-way communication between the state affiliates and the national organization; to examine the affiliation process and make recommendations to Executive Board; to develop best practices and support both aspiring affiliates as well as existing affiliates.

INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT COMMITTEE:

Description: Members to be appointed by the Executive Board; staff support provided by a staff member who will keep minutes, help schedule meetings, etc. as directed by Executive Board of WDAA; meetings to be held as needed.

Mission: to interact with and to support both existing International Affiliates as well as new and forming international groups; to review any existing agreements and to recommend any changes; to make recommendations to Executive Board regarding all matters pertaining to Western Dressage internationally

Requirements: Current membership in WDAA, confidentiality may be required

Description: The entire board is part of the committee because of the fiduciary responsibility. Also included are other individuals who have experience organizing shows at a World or National Championship level; Dini Swanson, Events Coordinator. Stacia, show manager; and others as needed. Meetings to be held as needed.

Mission: To create a sponsorship program both local and national assisted by the Marketing committee; work with the show manager to provide a list of names for judges and officials, videographer, photographer, announcer, etc. This group will also serve as a source for a Hearing Committee at the show as needed and required by USEF rules.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE:

Description: Composed of members, including Western Dressage judges, clinicians, and members committed to education. Staff support will keep minutes, help schedule meetings, etc. as directed by Executive Board of WDAA.

Mission: work to fulfill the educational mission of WDAA working to create and execute educational programs for judges, stewards, trainers and competitors at all levels. This will include the Judges’ Seminar, Train the Train, and the Cornerstone program for competitors, which will include an online video education program.

PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE:

Description: members are professional horseman who are involved in teaching Western Dressage and training horses for the discipline. Staff support will keep minutes, help schedule meetings, etc. as directed by Executive Board of WDAA. Meetings to be held as needed.

Mission: to represent the particular point of view, needs, and resources of the professional horseman in our Western Dressage community; to develop a “best practices” document for professionals to support the educational mission of WDAA; to provide input on proposed rule changes for Western Dressage.

Description: members should evenly represent gaited affiliate breeds and others with knowledge in this area. Staff support will keep minutes, help schedule meetings, etc. as directed by Executive Board of WDAA. Meetings to be held as needed.

Mission: to work with the gaited breeds to represent their concerns, point of view and interests; to work with appropriate committees on rules, tests, etc; work to provide educational material for each part of the Cornerstone program; work with Rules Task Force on rules for gaited horses as needed.
